I started this page as a way to show what people were thinking about the split.
I started it before Wilt was common knowledge; when we all thought that this would be the
end. Well somehow I think this page has grown - past a 'Save Kerbdog' page, and
towards a monument of greatness. It's amazing how fast it's growing! If you havent yet
sent your comment, then please do: Help the monument grow!!
"I am afraid but it is true that they have split up. I had the pleasure of seeing the lads last night in cork. i was talking the all 3 of the band and the dream is over. Colin seems set on college, Cormac and Daragh were in fine form and seem eager to get their new band called WILT on the road. They played 12 songs including 2 songs that WILT will release. According to Cormac a single will be out in January. All the Best The Dog Rests"
"I just read on your web page that Kerbdog are splitting up and im just HAD to add to the SAVE Kerbdog appeal!!!! I have one thing to say............. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DON'T DO THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have only been a Kerbdog fan for about 3 months and already i've become a MASSIVE fan, hell im OBSESSED!!!!!! I've never seen them live and have been praying that they'll play near me soon so i could see them. If you guys ever get to read this PLEASE DON'T DO THIS!:( you are absolutley BRILLIANT and whatever troubles you are having i know you'll get through them!!! I NEED YOUR MUSIC!!!!! Just had to get that off my chest....... But if you HAVE to split up i want ya to know that i wish you all the luck in the universe and thanks for making such excellent music!!! THINK ABOUT THIS!!!!!"
"Probably the most under rated band ever. Please do not let them split. If you have details of last gig in London please let me know. Regards"
"I was very non-plussed to hear the news of the split!."
"I cannot believe it, my favourite band ever in the entire world are set to split, I support any movement to get them to stay together."
"Kerbdog one of the most influential and most respected Irish heavy metal rock bands of our time, have split up!!?? what the hell is happening to the world of music. It semms like any bit of music with a bit of soul or attitude is rejected these days and I for one am sick to death of it all I think mercury who have shown us some good bands over the years are making the biggest mistake of their lives.I think I speak for everyone when I say that the world of heavy metal has lost one of it's best."
"I only found out today that they are splitting up!!! I was searching on the internet for Kerbdog pages and found this cool site!!! All I can say is that its a great dissapointment that the band are splitting. In my view and as a fan, it always seemed with Kerbdog that they were never marketed right. Everyone who's heard them will probably agree that their songs and the way they sound is great. Every tune they have written has certainly made me feel good. With bands in the same era and sound like Alice in Chains, Therapy etc. Its just such a bummer that if they had had the right backing and the right marketing they could have been HUGE!!!!! As far as I'm concerned, they were one of the most unrated bands I know of. Good luck guys, whatever you do!!! :-)"
"I just cant believe that my favourite band have split, it has totally gutted me. Having being a fan since the beginning, I counted Kerbdog as one of the finest bands on the face of the earth! I wish all the best to Cormac and Darragh in Wilt, and to Colin with his degree. Kerbdog R.I.P."
"I went to see Kerbdog for the second time last December. They're the best live band I've ever seen. It's a shame that Colin has left -- I spoke to him before the gig and he was so sound to me. He came across as a very sincere and funny guy. I have a feeling he'd still be in the band if Kerbdog had got the recognition (here and abroad) they richly deserve. All I can say now is LONG LIVE WILT !!!!!!!!!!!!!"
"Having only just discovered Kerbdog, I was gutted to find out that they've split (or going to split). I'd just like to say that they are one of the best bands I've ever heard and I've barely stopped listening to 'On The Turn' since before Christmas."
"Dammit they were such a good band and I've loved them for 3 years and they just go and split up?I bought them all a pint whenever I saw them and they were really nice.I saw them 8 or 9 times."
"To the first band that ever blew me away and to the only band who i could call myself a fan of! I hope you realise the depth of feeling followers of kerbdog have for the band! As fans, we owe an enormous debt of graditude to Cormac , Darragh ,Colin and Billy for the songs and countless live shows that were enjoyed and will continue to be enjoyed in our memories! I think we all feel cheated by Mercury for the way they mistreated the band and all agree that Kerbdog were the MOST underated band of the 90's. With your departure a chapter closes in music, hopefully however a new one opens with Wilt! 'To all those at the front, This is probably the only time you'll get to see us except for in Fuck'in Wembly Stadium ' How I wish that was the case!!! Slan kerbdog!"
"Luckily I got to see Kerbdog supporting Placebo last year, and they blew Placebo off the stage easily. If it wasn't for Kerbdog, I would have had a totally shit night."
"Finding out that Kerbdog are splitting up really ruined my christmas There one of the best bands to come out of Ireland in Years I saw them play in Whelans in Dublin in July and they were absolutely amazing. I'd even go as far as to say that the gig was better then the Radiohead gig i had seen a few weeks beforehand."
"DON'T FUCKING SPLIT UP!"
"no don't do it"
"Kerbdog are an Amazing band with a disgustingly large amount of songwriting talent. I was shocked to hear of the split. I have never seen them live as the gig at our local club was cancelled due to crap PA equipment, but I have listened to them religiously since I first heard them about 2 years ago, and was inpatiently waitin for the folow up to the EPIC On The Turn!!!!"
"I am a fan of heavy stuff like Machine Head, Pantera, etc, and little else from the alternative world (e.g. 2 Colours Red, etc) - but I can assure you, that I was a hell of a lot more gutted about Kerbdog's split than Sepultura's. WHY? Those at Mercury and Kerrang! should be hung, drawn and quartered for what they have done. "On The Turn" is quite simply a monumental album with no pretensions - better than "Nevermind", "Siamese Dream", "Ten", "Troublegum" - EVERYTHING in that area. The last time I saw them they absolutley awesome. They were the first time I saw them (supporting Therapy? in 1994) they were awesome. Everyone write into Kerrang!/Metal Hammer, etc, and let them know how much we miss the band who simply wrote the best SONGS around - the perfect pop of "Sally" alongside the barbed guitar work of "On The Turn". "Kerbdog" was a damn good album, too. I agree with the other post about Colin leaving due to lack of success - I can't help feeling that he was feeling unfulfilled at playing the same places or smaller on the "On The Turn" tour."
"They never really had a fighting chance, did they? Maybe "Sorry For The Record" hit a little too close to home."
"Kerbdog should live for ever"
"AHHHHHH noooooooooooooooo dont split up, kerbdog!!!!!! jilted."
"I have only just heard. It came as a shock but when I learned that Cormac and Darragh are to continue with WILT then my shock subsided. KERBDOG will still be with us in a way, so instead of feeling crap about it why not put our full support behind WILT who will become the best band ever apart from KERBDOG of course. I am behind you all the way WILT"
"I can't believe that Kebdog are going to break up. To be fair, it would help if the world actually knew they existed. BUT THAT IS THE RECORD COMPANY'S FAULT. DON'T LET IT HAPPEN. SHIT LIKE BRIT-POP WILL ONLY GET MORE AIRPLAY. VOICE YOUR VIEW. NOW!"
"I heard in Kerrang! that Kerbdog had been dropped by Mercury (shortly before, I noticed, the pathetic Tampasm were signed up). I only got into to them when their second album was released and was so short of cash that I set up a fund to get enough money to buy the CD after hearing a few incredible tracks on compilations ('On The Turn' and 'Severed'). Like the idiot I am I managed to miss them live twice in Edinburgh just before I'd heard them and as soon as I got the album I was kicking myself all over the city. Anyway, fingers crossed they're just changing their name (don't see why, Kerbdog's one of the best names I've heard). All the Best."
"i am like totally shocked at KERBDOGS split...They must be like one of the best bands around! like met them at a record shop in Coventry-Spin a disc, where as per usual i arrived ten minutes too late..(sob, sob!!) I had totally missed a free gig and an awesome band, however my friend and i ran around the place and got their scribbles on some paper, which was cool. Sinse then i have swore that whenever they were going to play next i'd most definetely go out of my way and see them.... And now they've split up!!!! I really could cry! Their stuff is soooooo cool, like from End Of A Green to Sally and their cover of Debaser is absolutely brillient. It's gonna be a major loss of some really cool talent......."
"I first heard Kerbdog around the time their first album came out. End of green got played on Raw Power and I loved it. I was a huge Pantera fan at the time and Kerbdog were a little different to anything else I was listening to. I didn't buy anything by them until On The Turn came out, which is one of the best records ever. I went out straight afterwards to buy the first album, but I don't like it, blatant Pearl Jam rip off's. I am more into Ska and Punk now but I still love On The Turn, you can appreciate the great songs, everyone I've played the album to has liked it, even ravers and indy kids. So the band have split. It isn't the tragedy everyone seems to be making it out to be. Cormac wrote the songs and he's got a new band. It'll just be the same Kerbdog but under a different name."
"kerbdog are one of the best bands around!! if the do call it a day it will be a fucking shame. there 1st 2 albums fucking rule and show great potential and i will personally be gutted if they quit so come on Kerbdog get a new album out and DONT FUCKING SPLIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
"er.... what the bloody hell has happened, you get in to a band and think oh yeah they'll big the next big thing but then, nada surf. kerbdog were, ARE a great band its a shame that some record company gets decided not to plug them further as, the album (OTT) quite easily pees all over any other dross out. MH put itin their top twenty albums of last year and songs like 'pledge','secure'and 'sally' were just awesome. for the fact that they enlightened my life so. some of the lyrics REALLY are me to a T!!!!!! ah well no matter what or why at least the new band wilt will provide some much needed injection into a crappy, headed no where industry where K and MH promo'ed bands rule and every one else is left to die, this sucks and it is something that is going to have to change as, if not we'll all end up listening to the same shit as, there is nothing to listen to and wont that be a very sad day????????"
"I was saddened to hear of Kerbdog's split. 'On the Turn' was one of the best hard rock albums ever made. It never got the attention it deserved. Hopefully, the Kerbdog boys' new band Wilt will kick some serious fucking arse and keep all of us grunge rejects going."
"Proof of how ignored Kerbdog were-When we heard that K-Dog had split,we sent off a letter to Kerrang!,saying how much of a shitter it was that the best British band for years had split.Did they print it? DID THEY BOLLOX!!! They prefered to print another letter about Marilyn Bloody Manson instead. When bands like Helmet and Quicksand are widely acknowledged as being influential to so many bands,a band as good as Kerbdog should be on magazine covers worldwide.Kerrangs review of On The Turn was a complete Farce. At least Metal Hammer had the right idea. So come on,Kerbdog, get back together and show those fuckers at Kerrang just how fantastic you were."
"fan fucking tastic. a decent band and they split up. on the turn rocked like er like er i dunno but it rocked. i'm a mancunian, but long live ireland, from Dan PS COME BACK SOON LADS"
"NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO STOP, CHANGE YOUR RECORD LABEL OR SOMETHING BUT DONT SPLIT DO A SEND OFF GIG IF NOT IN LONDON"
"It is the 'End of Green'"
"What the fuck is happening to music when fucked up record companies like "Mercury" don't support such a great fuckin' band. Cunts!!!!"
" I'm a 19 year old guy from Finland and I just find out that one of my favourite bands has split up, meaning of course kerbdog. I have their first album, but the second has been impossible to get here. I'm concidering byuing it from England, when I or one of my friends visit there. I'm of course now interested on Wilt, and if they have released something I will get to my hands some way. I think you are doing a good job and support in any way is always a great thing. Good luck to you and of course to Wilt and hopefully they release soon something and it can be bought here too."
"I VISITED YOUR WEBSITE,SEEING AS I AM ALSO A BIG FAN OF KERBDOG.I THOUGHT IT WAS A SHIT SITUATION WHEN THEY SPLIT UP.THEY WERE SERIOUSLY UNDERRATED! IF WE IRISH WANNA DO WITHOUT A BAND,WE COULD DO WITHOUT OVERRATED BANDS LIKE U2,CRANBERRIES,JUNKSTER,BOYZONE,WHO'S EDDIE,CHILL,OTT OR THE CORRS.I KNOW WILT WILL PROVIDE SOME COOL MUSIC.I ALSO WANNA SAY THAT 'RESIDENCE' ARE A COOL DEMO BAND FROM WICKLOW,AND I HOPE THEY GET A BIG RECORD DEAL.I WANNA WISH 'WAYLANDER' THE BEST OF LUCK AT CENTURY MEDIA RECORDS AS WELL."
"I saw the boys playing for the second time at their second last gig in Cork (unfortunately I missed their last gig as Kerbdog last weekend in Dublin). I've got to say, these 3 guys are the most genuine musicians I've met. They stopped to talk to everyone before and after the gig and stood up for their man when the "security" crowded the stage and blocked our view - they kindly asked them to get the fuck off the stage so that they could have a perfect view of their fans for their last Cork song. Other "rock-stars" often give interviews where they say you should never meet your heroes because they'll let you down. This has proved to me to be complete bullshit in the case of Kerbdog. As my friend Fergal has said on the page........... 'LONG LIVE WILT'."

Oh, and as some of these comments are getting potentially liabalous ;) I take no credit for any of them. They are the work of the named author and their personal insight/comment. I may well agree with the comments, but none are either representative of anything I or my ISP would actually say in public about those nice fellows they slag off ;)
